About
Walmart’s electronics section faces challenges with theft and customer engagement. High-value items make theft a concern, while the convenience of online shopping draws customers away, leading to shorter in-store visits. To address this, Walmart is reevaluating the design and layout of the electronics department, aiming for a more engaging setup that balances security and customer experience.
What I Did
During our presentation to Walmart, our group proposed four ideas aimed at enhancing the success of the electronics section. First, we suggested a strategic relocation within the store to increase visibility and foot traffic. Next, we recommended incorporating more point-of-sale (POS) signage to attract and inform customers about the latest electronic offerings.
To bolster customer engagement, we proposed the integration of a live chat feature within the store, allowing shoppers to receive real-time assistance and product information. Lastly, we emphasized the importance of a comprehensive reevaluation of the section’s layout, aiming for a more intuitive and immersive design to encourage longer customer stays. These ideas collectively aimed to address issues of visibility, customer engagement, and overall layout, contributing to a more successful and dynamic electronics section for Walmart.
